We always look forward to the Walnut Valley Festival held each year in September in Winfield, KS.
Here are a few highlights from our time there this month:
We arrived late Thursday night--just in time to see Socks in the Frying Pan on Stage 1.
Friday morning we joined Andy May's Acoustic Kids Stage as alumni guests. The rest of the day we shopped, browsed new instruments, and listened to more bands--Molly Tuttle, Balsam Range, The Steel Wheels, Chris Jones and the Night Drivers, The Outside Track, and more.
Then at midnight, we performed at the Songwriters Stage 11.
Saturday began bright and early once more at the Acoustic Kids Stage, followed by the NewSong Showcase, where we performed Maggie's winning song, Prove Me Wrong--also on our new album.
Then we rested, ate, rested some more, ate some more--all in our grandparents' RV.
Saturday night, we performed on Stage 5--the highlight of our festival. Thanks to Russell and Sherry Brace and the rest of the Stage 5 crew for hosting us and treating us so special!
Our last appearance at the festival was later that night with Barry Patton and Friends, which turned into a very fun experience. Such great performers that night! Thanks to Barry and Rene for letting us join you on Stage 2.
Thanks to our friends and fans and everyone else who stopped to hear our music. Without you, this journey would not mean nearly as much to us. Until next time . . .
