“We need more Vogts Sisters in this chaotic mess of a world. We need to step back and breathe and concentrate on the good and not the evil. We need to acknowledge beauty without argument, accept the good in life. Maybe what we need is less city and more mountain in our lives. One thing for sure--- we need more mountain music in our lives.” - Frank Gutch, Jr.

The Vogts Sisters ~ Sweet Sister Harmony from America's Heartland
Touring the Midwest since May 2012, the Vogts Sisters (pronounced "Votes") have gained widespread recognition for their vocal arrangements and tight sisterly harmonies. They perform in varied environments, including festivals, theatres, coffee houses, and even family parlors.
"With haunting harmonies and wickedly creative songs, the Vogts Sisters...stand out in a crowded field of similar performers, with a fresh sound from America’s Heartland." -Ozark Highlands Radio
The Vogts Sisters have garnered numerous awards in regional and international songwriting competitions, including Best Duo in the 15th Annual International Acoustic Music Awards. The girls have over thirty original songs that fit seamlessly into their acoustic Americana-Folk act, blending timeless music with sibling harmony.
While the sisters play a goodly portion of original material, they also include covers from favorite artists such as Emmylou Harris and Gillian Welch. They plan to release their first full cover album in Spring 2023. Other albums of original work include Broken Ties (2018), Homeward (2016), and My Own Dixie (2015).
Praised for their graceful yet vulnerable performances, the Vogts Sisters remain humble, possessing a highly developed sense of who they are and what they represent.
Maggie and Abigail play a Collings CJ35 guitar. Abigail also plays a Collings MT mandolin. Maggie plays a Czech violin made by John Juzek in 1927.
