Press Reviews
"Haunting harmonies and wickedly creative songs..." - Ozark Highlands Radio
"Maybe one of the best under-the-radar acts in the roots/string/grass genre' today..." - Americana Rhythm Magazine
"Beautiful, folksy bluegrass plays over haunting vocals and harmonizing mature lyrics.... A rich listening experience that stays with you and proves they have what it takes to keep ol' timey music alive and well." - Bill Jones, Red Dirt Nation
"The vocal harmonies between the sisters are fantastic time and time again. Each sister has a good voice when singing solo but magic happens when they combine which they luckily do quite often." - Ted Rogen, The Equal Ground
"Vogts Sisters-style...Low key but not lo-fi, they keep the songs close to the vest, singing from the heart. There is lonesome here, and happiness, and humility, but mostly melody and harmony." - Frank Gutch, Jr. - No Depression
"Size doesn’t matter in old-timey music. The Nashville-based band Old Crow Medicine Show will entertain a throng of rapturous fans of vintage sounds in Kansas City on Wednesday, Aug. 15, while the Vogts Sisters will play in a room that seats only four dozen on Saturday. The intimacy of the latter show at the Gospel Lounge at Knuckleheads is likely to make it the more rewarding of the two experiences. Abigail and Maggie...create charmingly unassuming folk music highlighted by glorious family harmonies." - Bill Brownlee, Kansas City Star - KC Concerts

Long Bio
The Vogts Sisters (pronounced "Votes") began performing Americana music in 2012. Since then, they've traveled the Midwest, taking their music to festivals, theaters, coffee houses, and even family parlors. Though they perform in varied environments, they have gained and maintained recognition for their tight sibling harmonies and, importantly, their respect for the audience.
"With haunting harmonies and wickedly creative songs, the Vogts Sisters...stand out in a crowded field of similar performers, with a fresh sound from America’s Heartland." -Ozark Highlands Radio
Additionally, the Vogts Sisters have garnered numerous awards in regional and international songwriting competitions, including Best Duo for the 15th annual International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA).
When performing, the sisters blend their original material with songs from such influences as Emmylou Harris and Gillian Welch, and the outcome is honest, timeless music. They plan to release their first full cover album in Spring 2023. Other albums of original work include Broken Ties (2018), Homeward (2016), and My Own Dixie (2015).
Praised for their graceful yet vulnerable performances, the Vogts Sisters remain humble, possessing a highly developed sense of who they are and what they represent.
