Earlier this month, we had a chance to showcase our music at the Kansas Sampler Festival in Wamego, Kansas. What a treat that was for us. The weekend was sunny and warm, and the tulips in the park were beautiful.
Our first show was on Saturday morning at the Gazebo in Sunset Park (west side).
Folks from our hometown had a booth in the Southeast Kansas Tent and invited us to sing there as well. The attendance that day was overwhelming (they sold over 11,000 tickets for the 2-day event), so we opted to set up under some shade trees for two afternoon performances.
This was our first opportunity to use our new sound equipment that we purchased for some upcoming summer gigs. The system is a Yamaha StagePas 600i. We were quite pleased with the easy set up and the sound it produced.
In-between sets we enjoyed browsing the various tents and had to buy some Kettle Korn--Maggie's favorite snack. In fact, she insisted that we buy two bags so she could eat it all week!
The next day, we performed on stage in the Sunrise Park (east side).
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to listen to our music. We met some very nice people and sold a record number of CDs. We couldn't be more happy!
This weekend, we're returning to Neodesha to record our vocal mixes for our new album. We've heard a few of the musician tracks, and everything is sounding wonderful. Exciting times! More next week!
